Call for papers
First Announcement

We are pleased to announce that the Fourteenth Workshop on Cantonese (WOC-14) will be organized by the Linguistic Society of Hong Kong to be held at City University of Hong Kong on Saturday, March 29, 2014. The theme of this workshop is 'Grammaticalization in Cantonese'. Potential issues to be addressed are:

• Lexical sources and grammaticalization paths of Cantonese grammatical words
• Grammaticalization in Cantonese from a typological perspective
• Comparative study on grammaticalization paths of different Yue dialects

Discussions are not restricted to the above issues. Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks with at least 10 minutes for discussion. Language used at the Workshop can be Cantonese, English or Mandarin. Abstracts may be written in Chinese or English and should be limited to one A4 page with the name(s) of author(s), affiliation and e-mail address(es). Abstracts in DOC format should be sent to:bckwok@cityu.edu.hk
